Based in Hampshire, Clare creates contemporary designs inspired by natural forms and calm environments of the surrounding New forest. She uses different techniques and processes, such as etching, to apply text, patterns and symbols into the surface of silver. Found objects and segments from old book pages also reside in Clare’s work. These collectively become metaphors to evoke memories as well as creating new ones for the wearer. The motion of the past has always been the fundamental theme in her work. Every piece of jewellery is unique.
Clare graduated from Hereford College of Arts (University of Wales) with a (BA) Hons degree in Contemporary Applied Arts in 2008. She started working in small metals in her second year before she found her passion to work with silver in the final year of her degree.
