Hello, I’m Clare, jewellery designer, maker and owner of Clare Sheridan-Wallis Jewellery. I live in The New Forest with my partner, Scott and our children, Poppy Rae and Elliott Grae.
I create contemporary designs, inspired by natural forms and calm environments of the surrounding New Forest, where we live. I use different techniques and processes, such as etching, casting, hand piercing and flame to apply patterns and symbols of the forest into the surface of silver. Each piece of jewellery is hand made, making every piece unique.
My Jewellery collections include items foraged from the forest floor, such as silver cast acorns and seeds, handcrafted flowers and mushrooms, etched, hand pierced animals as well as treetop finds like butterflies, birds and leaves.
I graduated from Hereford College of Arts (University of Wales) with a BA Honours Degree in Contemporary Applied Arts in 2008. I had started working in small metals in the second year of my degree and found that my passion was working with silver. After university, I continued to craft in my spare time, but it was only when I moved to The New Forest in 2016 that I discovered the theme that I had long been seeking. It is my love for the natural environment of The New Forest. This is now the primary source of inspiration for my jewellery designs.
Bespoke commissions can be made to order, so if you would like me to make you something unique and personal to you, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
